How did it all begin? Back in 2008 on a cloudy November morning, I woke up and decided I wanted to make all my Christmas cards. It only took a quick trip to the dollar store, a longer visit at Michaels and a few hours later, I knew this was my new found hobby.
With the encouragement and support from friends, family and coworkers, I was able to turn my passionate hobby into a business and KareKards are now sold in four local retail stores across the lower mainland.
My late Grandmother played a huge role in helping me grow my hobby into a business. We had “factory nights” where she would make some components while I designed the cards. The boxes I still have of her hand-folded cards and hand-tied ribbons remind me of our teamwork together and inspire me to continue making KareKards in her loving memory.
